Blue Box Transition Program

The East Ferris Residential Recycling Program will be managed by Circular Materials as of September 1, 2025.  During the transition, there should be no changes to recycling collection or schedules for Municipal residents. GFL has been awarded the new Residential Collection Contract starting September 1^st.

New Cart Delivery for Properties on Municipally Maintained Roads 

Delivery of one (1) residential property cart (recycling) per household will happen at the end of August 2025. Carts will only be delivered to individual properties on Municipally Maintained Roads and will NOT be delivered on Private Roads.

Carts will be delivered to the end of your driveway. You don't need to sign for them, and you don't need to be home when they are delivered. If you're planning on being away (i.e. on vacation) during your delivery window, please ask a neighbour to park your carts by your house or garage.

Properties on Privately Maintained Roads (not maintained by the Municipality) 

Residential property located on private roads will NOT receive automatic cart drop-off.  As per Municipal Waste Management by-law, all properties on private roads must continue to bring their recycling / waste to the nearest maintained road intersection and will be authorized to continue using their current collection (blue box) system.

If you are on a private road and still wish to receive an automatic cart on wheels, please contact GFL with your request as it will be managed on a case-by-case basis.

Business, Commercial and Institutional properties

The provincial transition recycling collection program only includes RESIDENTIAL collection service.  It will be your responsibility to make individual arrangements for your organization to receive a separate recycling collection service.
