Algonquin Land Claim
The Algonquin Land Claim is the largest land claim being negotiated in Ontario. The Federal and Provincial Governments, and the Algonquins of Ontario are currently engaged in the final stage of treaty negotiations. Provincial Crown lands within East Ferris form part of the lands that are being negotiated for transfer.
We are aware that there are residents with concerns. Below is a summary of the comments received regarding the proposed transfer along with responses. This Q & A was provided by the Province of Ontario. We hope this information alleviates concerns regarding the proposed transfer of lands.
