Water Quality Survey for Wasi-Callander Watershed
The North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority is surveying property owners within the watershed areas to develop an education program to improve local water quality. Your input is appreciated. The survey can be sound here or it is available at the Municipal Office.
Landfill Winter Hours Start November 1st
The Landfill Site Winter Schedule will begin on November 1st. The Site will be open on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Please remember the tipping fees have increased and are now are based on $10.00 per cubic meter. The Site is located at the end of Bertha Road, off Corbeil Road
Snow Season Rules Implemented November 1st
Snow is unpredictable except we know it’s coming! Therefore, beginning November 1st there is no overnight parking permitted on municipal roads and road allowances. The Public Works Crew are out at all hours depending on the accumulations and parked cars interfere with the clearing of the roads for your safety.
It is also unsafe to push or shovel snow across the road when clearing your driveway and/or mailbox areas. Please ensure the snow remains on your property.

It’s once again time to start thinking about Christmas. If you know anyone whose holiday would be made better by receiving a Christmas Basket please call Paul Gauthier during the evening at 705-498-7423.

New Community Profile
Council is proud to showcase the new East Ferris Community Profile. This project was conducted through funding from the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines under the Northern Communities Investment Readiness Program. Council has made business development a priority. This Profile will allow existing businesses to capture the economic culture of the community as well as showcase it to the world.

The Waste Management By-law has been finalized
Council approved By-law 2013-15 on March 12th, 2013. The full by-law is available by clicking here. The area of change is under Section 4 - Curbside Collection. Please note that raw garbage bags are not to be left out for collection, please put in a container or you can build a bin using the specfiications under this section or the Appendix.
OPP produces pamphlets so you know who to call and when to call
The Ontario Provincial Police for the North Bay, Mattawa and Powassan Detachments have produced this Infomation Brochure to educate residents when and who to call for help. There is also information on criminal record checks, victim services, and fraud. Please read so that you stay informed.

East Ferris Community Centre Holiday Schedule - Skating and Shinny
Public Skating is available on Sunday afternoons at the East Ferris Community Centre from 1:30 to 2:30 pm (unless there is a tournament) starting October 6th, 2013.
